How eBay UK fees work (2026)
Business sellers on ebay.co.uk pay a final value fee on the item price (not separately on shipping for most categories) plus a small per-order fee. The default rate here is 12.8% — your category and shop subscription change it, so edit freely.
Since February 2025, UK private sellers pay no final value fees on most categories. If you are selling as a business, those rules don't apply to you — and eBay will eventually require business registration anyway.
VAT: if you are VAT-registered and on the standard scheme, eBay fees carry 20% VAT you can reclaim — price comparisons should use the net fee.

Yes, if you are VAT-registered. eBay invoices fees plus 20% VAT; the reclaimable amount effectively reduces your net fee by about a sixth.
