Mixing ratios by the numbers
The ratio expresses developer : color (or color : developer depending on the line — check your brand's technical sheet). The calculator splits any total amount at any ratio.
Typical amounts: roots-only touch-up on medium hair ≈ 30–45 g; short full head ≈ 45–60 g; medium full head ≈ 60–90 g; long full head ≈ 90–120 g.
Developer strength (10/20/30/40 vol) is a separate decision from the ratio — it controls lift, not amount. Never boost lift by changing the mixing ratio.
